Global: World Tourism Film Awards (CIFFT) , “Tourism Destination Country” and “Tourism Products” categories

ST won two awards at the World Tourism Film Awards, the global awards organised by the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT): “No Drama”, featuring tennis legend and ST ambassador Roger Federer and Oscar winner Robert de Niro, took the overall prize in the “Tourism Destination Country” category, while “No one upstages the Grand Tour of Switzerland” with Roger Federer and Oscar winner Anne Hathaway lifted the overall trophy in the “Tourism Products” category. Chief Marketing Officer André Hefti and Head of Campaigns Martin Pally accepted the award in Valencia on ST’s behalf.

Europe: ADC*E Awards , “Online Videos” category

In December, ST won bronze in the “Online Videos” category at the ADC*E Awards with its short film “No one upstages the Grand Tour of Switzerland” featuring Roger Federer and Anne Hathaway. Presented by the Art Directors Club Europe, the awards are the most important creative honours in European advertising industry. The decision falls to a 54-member jury from across 20 countries.

Europe: Rail Tourism Awards , "Best Rail Tourism Campaign” category

The European Travel Commission and Eurail recognised ST’s short film “Grand Train Tour of Switzerland: The Ride of a Lifetime” (featuring Roger Federer and Trevor Noah) with a Rail Tourism Award in the “Best Rail Tourism Campaign” category.

The awards promote sustainable train-based tourism and recognise the most influential campaigns in this area.

Switzerland: Edi.23 , "Corporate Communication: Brand / Image Films Profiling an Enterprise” category

ST’s short film entitled “Grand Train Tour of Switzerland: The Ride of a Lifetime”, featuring Roger Federer and Trevor Noah, won gold in the “Corporate Communication: Brand / Image Films Profiling an Enterprise” category.
Edi. is the quality award for commissioned advertising, industry and corporate film productions. The competition takes place under the patronage of the Federal Department of Home Affairs and has been conducted by SWISSFILM ASSOCIATION since the year 2000.

Switzerland: Schweizer Journalist:in , “Media Spokesperson of the Year – Travel Category”

Swiss media professionals were invited to rate the most relevant media spokespersons in Switzerland in 2023. The survey was carried out by specialist magazine “Schweizer Journalist:in”.

Markus Berger from ST (together with his team) skilfully held his own against the significantly larger players in the specialist “Travel” ranking and claimed third place – behind the media offices of ST partners SBB (first place) and Swiss International Airlines (second place).

Germany: Tourism PR and Media Award , Tourist Office of the Year plus category win for “LGBTQ Trend Destination

ST won the “Tourism PR and Media Award” as Travel Agency of the Year for the third time in 2023, following on from wins in 2019 and 2020. The award was presented as part of the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) Berlin. ST also received an award for the best “LGBTQ Trend Destination”. The awards were voted on by more than 200 German-speaking media professionals.

USA: The Virtuoso Award , "Tourism Board of the Year” category

ST won the prestigious “Tourism Board of the Year 2023” award at Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas in August 2023. This was ST’s fifth award in this category, following on from wins in 2013, 2014, 2018 and 2019.

Virtuoso is a network of over 1,000 luxury travel agencies with 17,500 agents worldwide and primarily focuses on North and South America.

USA: US International Awards , including in the “Client Company of the Year” and “Online & Social Media” categories

ST won four prizes at the US International Awards in June 2023: The “Client Company of the Year” special award, the grand award in the main “Online & Social Media“ category for “No Drama” with ST ambassador Roger Federer, together with Robert De Niro, as well as a gold award.
The second campaign, “No one upstages the Grand Tour of Switzerland” with Roger Federer and Anne Hathaway also won gold.

The awards have been presented for outstanding corporate videos for 50 years – previously under the US International Film & Video Festival banner.

USA: New York Festivals TV & Film Awards , “Tourism” category

ST’s short film “No one upstages the Grand Tour of Switzerland” with Roger Federer and Anne Hathaway won gold at the New York Festivals TV & Film in April 2023.
The awards honour creative works from a broad spectrum of topics and has been running for more than 60 years. Forty-three countries were represented in 2023.

China: World Winter Sports Expo , “International Leading Winter Sports Brand – Top 10 Ski Resorts” category

The World Winter Sports Expo has been held annually in Beijing since 2016 and, according to the organisers, is one of the largest winter sports trade fairs in the world. In 2023, three destinations – the Jungfrau Region, Davos-Klosters and Engelberg-Titlis – each received an “International Leading Winter Sports Brand – Top 10 Ski Resorts” award at the Expo. ST China accepted the awards on behalf of the Swiss destination partners. 

China: National Tourism Fashion Awards , “Top 10 Most Anticipated Travel Destination” and “Top 10 Destination Innovation Marketing Case” categories

Switzerland won two awards at the National Tourism Fashion Awards 2023: “Top 10 Most Anticipated Travel Destination ” and “Top 10 Destination Innovation Marketing Case”. The awards are presented by the travel platform “National Tourism”, which includes the wide-reaching national tourism network www.guojialvye.com.

China: Magazine Voyage Sustainability Awards , “Sustainable Destination” category

Founded in 2004, lifestyle magazine Voyage is one of the biggest in China. The magazine presented awards for the year 2022 in 13 categories – from sustainable travel destinations to sustainability innovations and sustainable technology. More than 100 organisations were taken into consideration. The awards ceremony was held in February 2023. ST received an award in the “Sustainable Destination” category.

The large jury consisted of celebrities, members of the media and industry leaders. A vote was also conducted on social media.

China: Shanghai Medical Service Association , “Best Medical Tourism Destination” category

ST has been a member of the Shanghai Medical Service Association since 2022. The association has over 300 members, including hospitals and medical service providers.

In November 2023, Switzerland received an award from the association in the “Best Medical Tourism Destination 2023” category.

China: GOGO & SINA Shanghai , “Sustainable Travel Destination of the Year” category

Switzerland was named “Sustainable Travel Destination of the Year” at the awards ceremony of the Sina.sh & Shanghai GOGO travelling media group.
Sina.com is a large Chinese-language infotainment web portal. It was established in 1999 and is operated by the SINA Corporation. SINA is one of the largest web providers in China and operates the Weibo short message service, among other things. GOGO is a social media company based in Shanghai. The two companies presented the awards jointly for the first time. Voting was held online via GOGO’s social media channels.

China: City Traveler Awards , “Sustainable Destination” and “Sports Destination” categories

ST picked up two awards at the City Traveller Awards in December 2023: Switzerland as a holiday and travel destination was victorious in the “Sustainable Destination” category, while Valais received an award for “Sports Destination”. Media company City Traveller has been presenting the awards each year for 15 years now.

France: Hospitality Award , "Destination Media Campaign” category

The Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau (SCIB) is a non-profit organisation under the umbrella of Switzerland Tourism. In 2023, SCIB won a second place Hospitality Award in the “Destination Media Campaign” category for its “Shutters” campaign.

The Hospitality Award is a prize awarded to innovative and creative initiatives in the hospitality sector. It is organised under the patronage of the French Prime Minister. The Hospitality Award receives around 3,000 entries every year.

France: Cannes Corporate Media & TV Award , “Tourism Films – Countries and Products” category

The first two ST short films with Roger Federer also impressed the 70-strong jury at the “Cannes Corporate Media & TV” awards: “No Drama” with co-star Robert de Niro won gold in the “Countries” tourism category, and “No one upstages the Grand Tour of Switzerland” with co-star Anne Hathaway won gold in the “Products” tourism category. 

Portugal: Art&Tur Festival Internacional de Cinema de Turismo , “Best Film: Screenplay” category

ST’s short film “No one upstages the Grand Tour of Switzerland” took first prize at the 16th Art&Tur Festival Internacional de Cinema de Turismo in October 2023 in Caldas da Rainha. Roger Federer and Anne Hathaway won in the “Best Film: Screenplay” category. The festival is part of the CIFFT Circuit (International Committee of Tourism Film Festival).

Spain: Ondas Awards , “Best Branded Podcast” category

Blum, the first crime podcast from ST, won an Ondas Award. This is the most prestigious award in the Spanish communications industry.

Blum won in the “Best Branded Podcast” category for the following reason: “Because ST has produced a fictional series with complete freedom, set in a landscape whose value grows with every episode.”

Spain: BCMA Awards , “Best Sound Branded Content” category

The “Blum” podcast won in the “Best Sound Branded Content” category at the BCMA Awards (Branded Content Marketing Association) in March 2023.
The BCMA is a non-profit association open to anyone involved in marketing at any point in the value chain. BCMA has existed internationally for 20 years, with branches in various countries.

Spain: Best!N Travel Award , “Best Digital Campaign” category

In November 2023, together with podcast producers El Extraodrinario and TimeOut, ST won a Best!N Travel Award in the “Best Digital Campaign” category for the Blum crime podcast. The Best!N Travel Awards are the marketing awards of the Spanish tourism industry and are presented each year.

Serbia: Silver Lake Tourfilm Festival , “Tourism Destination Country” and “Tourism Products” categories

ST won two awards at the Silver Lake Tourfilm Festival in Veliko Gradiste, Serbia: Switzerland as a holiday and travel destination took first place in the “Tourism Products” category, and ST’s short film “No Drama” with Roger Federer and co-star Robert De Niro took third place in the “Tourism Destination Country” category.
The festival is part of the CIFFT Circuit (International Committee of Tourism Film Festival).

Croatia: Zagreb Tourfilm Festival , “Best Tourist Destination” category

In October 2023, ST’s short film “No Drama” was awarded the Gold Trophy in the “Best Tourist Destination” category at the Zagreb Tourfilm Festival. Thomas Casura, Chef de Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Croatia, accepted the award on ST’s behalf. The Zagreb Tourfilm Festival is part of the CIFFT Circuit (International Committee of Tourism Film Festival).

Greece: Amorgos Tourism Film Festival , “Tourism Destination Country” and “Tourism Products” categories

ST received two awards at the Amorgos Film Festival in November 2023:

The first was for the “No Drama” short film with Roger Federer and Robert De Niro in the “Tourism Destination Country” category. The second was for “No one upstages the Grand Tour of Switzerland” with Roger Federer and co-star Anne Hathaway in the “Tourism Products” category.

The Amorgos Film Festival is held each year on the Greek island of the same name and is dedicated to the promotion of tourist films, as well as domestic and foreign tourism. The festival is part of the CIFFT Circuit (International Committee of Tourism Film Festival).
