Switzerland Tourism seeks to create a desire among guests for sustainable travel in Switzerland and offers its partners effective platforms.

 

“We proudly promote Switzerland”: it is with this inner conviction that the 285 employees of Switzerland Tourism (ST) promote Switzerland as a holiday and travel destination across 36 markets. In doing so, they ensure that the Switzerland destination brand is always perceived positively and consistently.

The sustainability initiative Swisstainable, launched in 2021, is making a significant contribution to the way in which Switzerland is perceived. It is not for nothing that we ensure Swisstainable is effectively staged as a central theme in every context across all our broad-based communication campaigns: summer, autumn, winter, business events, and cities.

The “Swisstainable on the move” campaign impressively demonstrated how much marketing power we can develop if we can get the tourism service providers and, in particular, the ST partners on board. Thanks to the support of SBB, the public transport industry, Zurich Insurance, Coop, the Swiss Travel Centre and the Swisstainable hotels, we successfully implemented the largest sustainability campaign in the Swiss market to date in 2023. As shown by the impressive figure of 324 million marketing contacts reached.

The transition to sustainable tourism requires both time and financial resources. We are therefore all the more pleased with the great support shown by the industry, and we were able to achieve a lot with Swisstainable 2023. This strengthens our resolve in our mission to continue to create effective platforms for our partners’ sustainable offers and to awaken a desire for sustainable travel among our guests at home and abroad.
