After two years of courting, Switzerland Tourism ST finally convinced the producers of “The Grand Tour” to film the opening episode of the show’s second season with Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond in Switzerland. The three hosts achieved cult status with the show’s predecessor “Top Gear” on the BBC, watched by 350 million viewers worldwide.

“The Grand Tour” is available on Amazon Prime and has around 400 million viewers. In the trailer for the second season, which has been watched more than eight million times, a signpost for the Grand Tour of Switzerland is clearly visible. The strong fan community also followed the trio on their journey through Switzerland on social media. Clarkson communicated with his 777,000 followers on Instagram and shared photos from Lake Constance, Lucerne, Andermatt and Ticino.
