23 tour operators from the Russian delegation visited Heidiland and Grand Resort Bad Ragaz for the first time in the run-up to the Switzerland Travel Mart STM. Here, 70 doctors offer their services: from plastic surgery and orthopaedics to fertility treatment, nutrition advice and mental health. The hotel is specialised in medical wellness. Olga Korshun, Director Europort, was impressed: “Thanks to Switzerland Tourism, I discovered fantastic possibilities and a wide range of health services in wellness and medical care.” These KAM measures of Switzerland Tourism ST resulted in 400 overnight stays.

Switzerland has a spa tradition that is part of its history. The first major campaign of ST (then still under the name SVZ) was launched in 1926 and featured Switzerland’s mineral springs and bathing resorts – you can read this in the anniversary publication of ST.

And according to “Neue Zürcher Zeitung NZZ” (German), growing life expectancy and demographic trends are fuelling the medical wellness trend.
