Global: YouTube Leaderboard 2021 , Cannes Edition

Switzerland Tourism ST’s video “No Drama” starring Roger Federer and Robert De Niro made it onto the list of the most popular YouTube ads of 2021. It was the first Swiss advert ever to feature in the Cannes Lions Top 10 YouTube Ads Leaderboard.

The list is determined by an algorithm that factors in watch time, organic views and audience retention.

Global: DTTT – X. Festival Awards , category “Placemaking Award”

ST won the DTTT (Digital Tourism Think Tank) – X. Festival Award in the Placemaking category for its short film “No Drama”. This industry platform fosters the sharing of tourism knowledge and best practice.

Global: DTTT – X. Festival Awards , category “Design & Innovation”

ST won the second DTTT (Digital Tourism Think Tank) – X. Festival Award in the Design & Innovation category for its 100% Women initiative.

Global: Epica Awards 2021 , category “Transport & Tourism”

The short film “No Drama” won bronze in the Transport & Tourism category at the Epica Awards.

Epica is the only creative prize awarded by a jury consisting exclusively of journalists. 200 magazines and websites from around the world are represented.

Switzerland: Edi.21 , category “Corporate Communication – Brand Image”

The short film “No Drama” won gold in the Corporate Communication – Brand Image category. Edi. is the quality award for commissioned productions of advertising, industry and corporate films. The competition takes place under the patronage of the Federal Department of Home Affairs and has been conducted by the SWISSFILM ASSOCIATION since 2000.

Switzerland: Marketing Excellence Award 21 , category “Special Prize”

The short film “No Drama” won a Marketing Excellence Award – the Oscars of the Swiss marketing scene – in the Special Prize category. These awards pay tribute to the most creative ideas and most successful marketing projects.

They are awarded by the Swiss Marketing Forum.

Switzerland: PR-Bild Award , category “award for best image, Switzerland”, ”Travel”, “Lifestyle”

Every year, the press portal news aktuell honours the best PR pictures across six categories. The winners are selected by a 21-member jury. 

ST won the award for best image, Switzerland, and first place in the Travel category with the photo “Passwang, Nebelwelle”, taken by Jan Geerk.

ST also won an award in the Lifestyle category for an image of a woman swimming in Lake Lugano, near Gandria, photographed by Silvano Zeiter.

United Kingdom: London International Award , category “Online Film: Travel”

ST won bronze at the London International Awards in the Online Film: Travel category for the short film “No Drama”.

The LIAs are chosen by an expert panel and presented at one of the world’s most eminent award ceremonies honouring creativity in the advertising and brand communication space.

Brazil: UPiS-Award , category “Best Luxury Destination of 2021”

UPiS, one of Brazil’s most pre-eminent universities, presents an annual Best Luxury Destination award. In 2021, ST secured the most votes from the jury and online voters.

Italy: Italian Mission Award 2021 , category “Best Business Destination”

The Italian Mission Awards are presented by the book and newspaper publishers Newsteca. The 2021 award in the Best Business Destination category went to ST. The winners are chosen by a jury of Italian travel experts and journalists.

Germany: Touristik PR und Medien Award , ”Touristic Board of the Year”

ST retained the Tourist Board of the Year accolade at the Touristik PR und Medien Awards, which it had also won in 2020. The awards were voted on by more than 200 German-speaking media professionals. The awards are usually presented at the ITB tourism trade fair in Berlin, but the event and the award ceremony took place virtually due to the pandemic.

China: Wi Trip , category “Most Desirable Destination 2021“

Wi Trip, which is an important medium for the premium travel segment, named Switzerland

its most desirable destination of 2021. The jury is comprised of representatives of specialist travel media, influencers and tourism experts.

China: National Tourism, Fashion Awards , category “Top 10 destination Live-streaming innovation“

The National Tourism Fashion Awards were presented by the travel platform National Tourism at a ceremony in Beijing in April 2021. ST won the award for the Top 10 Destination Live Streaming Innovation category.

The National Tourism travel platform includes the national tourism network www.guojialvye.com, which has a huge reach.

China: 2021 China MICE International Forum , category “Best Partner“

The Switzerland Convention and Incentive Bureau (SCIB), which falls under the ST umbrella, won an award in the Best Partner category at the China MICE International Forum in April 2021.

China: Sina Weibo , category “Most Influental Outbound Destination“

Sina Weibo is the Chinese answer to the microblogging service offered by Twitter. Statista.com estimates that it had more than 400 million users in 2021. ST received the Most Influential Outbound Destination 2020 award from Sina Weibo in 2021.

China: Voyage Magazine , category “Eco Creativity“

ST won an award from China’s Voyage Magazine in the Eco Creativity category.

Croatia: International TourFilm Award

ST picked up an award from Croatia for its short film “No Drama”, winning first place at the International TourFilm Festival. Roger Federer and Robert de Niro also walked away with the International Award for Excellence “CHARTER FEST – ANTONIO CONTE” 2021.

North America: WAVE Awards – Travel Age West 2021 , category “Most Creative Virtual Programming by a Tourism Board“

ST was presented with the Travel Age West WAVE Award for most creative virtual programming by an NTO in Los Angeles in October 2021.

These awards are given by Travel Age West, the leading travel magazine on the West Coast of the USA. Travel agencies throughout the West are able to vote.

India: Travel + Leisure’s India , category “Best International Destination“

In an online poll, the readers of the Indian edition of the magazine Travel + Leisure named Switzerland the best international travel destination. The award was accepted by ST’s team in Mumbai.

India: Condé Nast Traveller Awards , category “Favourite Overseas Destination“

Indian readers of Condé Nast Traveller magazine named Switzerland their second-favourite overseas destination in 2020. ST’s team in Mumbai were presented with the prize in December 2020.
