A total of 1,310 industry experts gathered in Lucerne for Switzerland Vacation Day, the biggest annual tourist marketing event organised by ST. There were 38 breakout sessions to choose from. As in the previous year, the event achieved a good overall satisfaction score of 8.0 (out of 10).

Tourism expert Roger Brooks offered some exciting insights in his keynote address, entitled “Tourism for the 21st Century”: He outlined seven fast-growing tourism trends. He also advised tourism service providers to incorporate insider tips from private individuals into their destination marketing. Marcus Schoegel from the University of St. Gallen brought the event to a close. In his keynote speech, entitled “Hurdles on the journey to becoming a customer-centric business”, he explains why the needs of the consumer are now more important than ever.
