The Swiss Federal Inventory of Heritage Sites of national importance (ISOS) currently comprises 1274 sites. It identifies the most valuable villages in Switzerland and forms an important basis for their sustainable development. The inventory is drawn up along with the cantons and implemented by the Federal Council. For tourists, many of these places are insider tips. To make them better known to both local and foreign holidaymakers, Switzerland Tourism ST and the Federal Office of Culture have launched a project entitled “In love with beautiful places”..

In its media management, Switzerland Tourism focuses on press trips and on proactively suggesting topics for journalists.

Focus on media work
The new myswitzerland.com/schoene-orte website presents 20 villages selected by the ST experts to the public in an inspiring way. ST mainly used key media management to draw attention to the project. Thanks to some proactive media work, a report was carried on SRF’s “Schweiz akuell” current affairs TV show. The published media release (German) generated 69 reports in Switzerland alone, with around 10.87 million media exposures.
