A total of 115 buyers from 37 countries travelled to Gstaad for the Snow Travel Mart Switzerland (STMS) 2018 to get an overall picture of Switzerland’s latest winter travel products and services. As usual at the STMS, this was done through pre-arranged business meetings between buyers and the 110 participating Swiss suppliers. Buyers and sellers alike were delighted with the event, for instance awarding an average rating of 9 (out of 10) for value for money.
The STMS is one of the most important Key Account Management (KAM) activities. This year, 36% of the participants’ turnover in Switzerland was negotiated and purchased at the STMS (2016: 24%). The event generated a total of 64,000 additional overnight stays in Switzerland, which represents around CHF 16.5 million in turnover. This was comfortably above the target of 12,000 additional overnight stays and CHF 4.5 million in turnover.
The STMS is the most important national trade show for Swiss winter tourism. Switzerland Tourism runs the event every two years, each time at a different destination. More pictures from the STMS in Gstaad can be found here .
