According to TMS 2017, Czech guests rated hospitality in Switzerland as the highest at 92.2% (fully satisfied), followed by Poland (91.6%), Australia (90.1%), Austria (89.8%) and India (89.3%). The overall average is 83%.

According to TMS 2017, 70.1% of all guests who cycle in the Alpine region during the summer months come from Switzerland. Germany ranks second with 11.1%, followed by the Benelux countries with 5.1%.

According to TMS 2017, the Swiss respondents cited “Family-friendly” (10.5%) as the main reason for holidays in Switzerland, followed by “Relaxation” (9.4%) and “Sports opportunities” (7.8%).

According to the Swiss Federal Statistical Office (overnight stays), the “Major Cities” tourism zone is the most popular with 63.1%. In second place are “Mountains” with 16.2%, followed by “Small towns” with 15.9%.

According to the Federal Statistical Office, the Valais Region could report the highest percentage growth of overnight hotel stays by Indian guests (+103.9%), followed by Basel (+99.8%) and Zurich (+98.8%).
