Switzerland has much to offer besides fine cheese, melt-in-the-mouth chocolate and beautifully adorned cows. The French writer Frédéric Couderc was able to see that for himself. The renowned magazine “National Geographic Traveler” France sent him on an E-Grand Tour of Switzerland, the world’s first road tour for electric cars. The article’s narrative style made it very different from normal travel reports, and it attracted a readership of around 200,000.

According to TMS 2017, these are the two means of transport most used by French guests compared to all other visitors (rounded figures).

His Tesla took him from Zurich to Eastern Switzerland, Engadin St. Moritz, Ticino, Valais, the Lake Geneva Region, the Bernese Oberland and the Jungfrau Region. Couderc followed in the tracks of authors Hermann Hesse and Johanna Spyri, discovered the art and culture scene in Lugano and got an introduction to robotics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne. His conclusion: he felt as if he’d seen all of Europe in one single country.
