Get to know experts who still master the old crafts and keep traditions alive, meet locals and learn more about the region by taking part in various activities. Experiential tourism was and continues to be a trend (English study “The Rise of Experiential Travel”) that is growing worldwide. According to Jürg Schmid, CEO Switzerland Tourism ST (until 31.12.2017), “demand for experiential tourism is an opportunity to raise awareness of Switzerland’s local expertise across the world and to create added value in the regions where this knowledge is rooted.”

700 guided experience offers

To ensure simple access to existing experience offers, ST launched the intuitive online platform My Swiss Experience as part of the 2017 summer campaign. There are over 700 experience offers across Switzerland with various themes: adventure, nature, cities and attractions, culture, sport, cuisine, recovery and education. Ex-Miss Swiss Dominique Rinderknecht, for example, tried out the trek along the geysers in Andermatt.

On MySwitzerland.com/summer, hosts explained what experiences their guests can look forward to discovering: for example, fishing at dawn on Lake Constance or searching for minerals in the Binn Valley in Upper Valais.
